searching for a studio?

Here are the things you should know:

  • A quality studio should be staffed by COMPREHENSIVELY trained instructors. Most comprehensive training programs require hundreds of hours of study, including anatomy, safety, apprenticeship, and written and practical tests. Be sure to ask potential studios about their certifications. For more information, visit the Pilates Method Alliance website.

  • Prices for private lessons in Pittsburgh are all about the same. Depending on whether you want a single lesson or a package, you'll pay between $55-$65 per session on average.

  • Seek out a studio that teaches classical Pilates. The original method is still the best, and many of the newer incarnations, such as Yogalates and the like, are less effective knock-offs.
